I grew up in a very religious family. I am very humbled and very grateful. As a child I witnessed the rich culture and traditions that exist within the Southern Black Church. I have been blessed with the opportunity to witness my mother and my grandmothers’ loud cries and sweet surrender to the “holy spirit”. When we left the church I could see that they were transformed. Stronger. Wiser. Connected.
As a child, I also witnessed a different side of my elders. Specifically, the women. They would speak about situations that they knew would manifest in the future. They could look at a person and sense “good” or “bad vibes”. They had special dreams. Their sense of awareness and knowing were magical. They were very sure and confident. Later, I realized that they were very in tune with the power of intuition.
Before I entered into my adolescent years I began to have special dreams too. Before someone in my family died, they would first visit me in a dream. I began to feel people’s emotions. I could sense the outcome of a situation before it occurred.
I silenced my intuition for a long time. Growing up I was told that “psychics” were bad. I was conditioned to believe that it was sinful to accept anything or anyone that was “supernatural”. Later I would question the teachings. I often wondered what the difference was between a church prophet and a psychic?
During my early twenties I experienced a major spiritual awakening. I began to feel deeply. I questioned everything that I had been taught. I thought that I was losing my mind. My safety net, which was often covered by religion began to fall apart. When I moved to Chicago I met a wonderful group of people. They reminded me that it was ok to be different, to feel…..to know.
Today, I do provide intuitive “psychic” readings for others. It is a part of my life’s purpose. I receive such joy when I can share with a person the possible outcomes that will be accompanied by the world that they are creating. Being “a psychic” is not just about predicting the future. It is also connected to identifying patterns, systems and beliefs that prevents one from living a fulfilling life.
Receiving a reading is a “spiritual experience” that can shift us into the flow that is needed to live a healthy and prosperous life. When we know and heal ourselves the possibilities are limitless.
So, YES I AM A PSYCHIC and I am very proud of it. I have tapped into one of the many tools that God has given to me. I am honored to share this gift with the world.
